Just a crazy day….

We all wake up in the mornings and think to ourselves “today is going to be a great day! The kids will be outside playing, I will do all the laundry, I will clean and possibly work out.” I have those mornings pretty often, probably more than I would like to admit. But here I am admitting it….. oops

I am a work from home data manager for an international CRO company. My boss is amazing and lets me have flexibility in my schedule based off meetings and personal items. Like I stated above, I wake up in the mornings dedicated to get this day to be a good one. I put my workout clothes on, because we all know if you dress in leggings you will definitely run, and got up to take care of the dogs. My dogs are huge and just play all day long; which equals that horrible dog smell in my house. They were supposed to go to grooming today but my husband called first thing this morning to tell me we had a landscaping company coming to the house and the grooming appointment had to be cancelled. First rut in the day, check.

One of my pups is an actual puppy so I planned to take her to doggy daycare to get some energy out. Here I am, already working and my mother in law comes to watch the kids so I can work, bless her heart. I truly got blessed with a great one. Anyways, I have meetings coming up and I run the pup to the daycare. Then I have a landscaping company in my backyard fixing a water issue. It’ll look super nice! But when you have dogs that need to get into the yard to go potty, SUPER BAD TIMING! On top of this, we are getting our grass cut by the same landscaping company since my hubs tore his knee at work. And then on top of that, I have people inside my house trying to fix a broken cabinet. Just the entire day is a rut now.

I am trying to get all of my work done, answer emails, show up to meetings on time, still get my love in with my kids, run back and forth for the dogs, talk to these companies about my expectations, get my dancing toddler to dance class tonight and here is the kicker, these workout leggings are only for show now.

You try and try and try but sometimes, the crazy day just wins. And that is totally fine! I am always so hard on myself, especially with my mom guilt, that I do forget that everything is fine. If I don’t run today, that is fine. I won’t be cooking dinner, thank you hubs! I can try to take the dogs on a walk, let the kids play in the sprinkler, sit on the back porch with a beer, but who knows if that will happen…. IT IS FINE!
